WHAT IS MICRO-NEEDLING
aka COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (CIT)
A new and innovative skin & facial rejuvenation procedure taking the beauty industry by storm. It is a minimally-invasive non-surgical procedure for skin rejuvenation that involves the use of a micro-needling device to reduce fine lines and deep wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne scars, stretch marks and hair loss.
CIT can lead to thicker, stronger, more resilient, smoother skin and a brighter complexion to create healthier more youthful looking skin. The results speak for themselves. And best of all it is nearly painless with minimal down-time and long-lasting results.
Collagen Induction Therapy is a safe and effective method for almost all skin types.
Understanding Collagen Induction Therapy
First, let’s look at the body part it effects the most. THE SKIN!
This is the body’s largest and most essential organ; which is always changing. We continuously shed the outer layers of our skin and in turn it gets replaced by inner cells that move up toward the surface.
Skin is composed of two primary layers: the epidermis and the dermis.
The epidermis is the outermost protective layer; the dermis—commonly known as the “true skin”—is the most important layer since it is home to the essential functioning components of the skin. This layer is primarily responsible for producing collagen and elastin.
CIT dramatically increases the amount of healthy collagen or elastin in the skin. During the process small micro-channels are created in the skin to activate the body’s natural healing response. This starts the regeneration cycle of the skin leading to the release of growth factors within the deeper layers of the skin. As a result, collagen and elastin production is accelerated to heal the wound, which builds new layers of healthy skin cells.

Stimulation of Healthy New Collagen & Elastin
Enhances Delivery of Cellular Nutrients
Faster healing of inflammation and oxidation
Remodels scarring and stretch marks with healthy Collagen & Elastin
Stimulation of Circulation & Growth Factors required for Hair Growth
What Collagen Induction Therapy Does
SKIN REJUVENATION ~ CIT can prevent premature skin aging by triggering collagen and elastin growth. This may lead to skin thickening and help to prevent the breakdown of collagen that results in skin aging. CIT can enhance the effectiveness of topical anti-aging products by boosting absorption and concentration in the skin., which in turn can help to slow down the aging process.
FINE LINES & WRINKLES ~ Thinning skin and sun damage can lead to the loss of collagen and elastin which can lead to fine lines & wrinkles. CIT can significantly improve these conditions by stimulating the production of the skins own natural collagen and elastins. This may help to fill in the lines and wrinkles and help reduce the skin thinning that is commonly associated with aging.
SCARS ~ CIT is proven to improve or even fade out most types of scarring except for Hypertrophic & Keloid scars. CIT breaks down the scar tissue and stimulates collagen and elastin production to help resurface the skin.
*Hypertrophic & Keloid scars are the abnormal growth of scar tissue that errupts above the skins top surface.
STRETCH MARKS ~ Stretch marks are caused by rapid stretching of the skin. Although they are somewhat more difficult to treat then other scars, many people report excellent results with CIT, however more treatments are usually required. CIT breaks down the scar tissue and stimulates collagen and elastin production to help resurface the skin.
ROSACEA ~ A common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. It may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. CIT may help the appearance of Rosacea by shedding the top layer of skin and stimulating the production of the skins own natural collagen. *Please Note, CIT can not be preformed on Nodular or Pustular Rosacea.
HYPERPIGMENTATION ~ Typically brought on by acne, wounds, and prolonged exposure to the sun. Hyperpigmentation is a condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of *melanin forms deposits in the skin. CIT may help to reduce hyperpigmentation by shedding the top layer of skin and may help normalize the production of melanocytes. CIT may also help with topical skin lightening products by boosting absorption and concentration in the skin.
*Melanin is a broad term for a group of natural pigments found in most organisms.
**Melanocytes are melanin-producing neural-crest derived cells located in the bottom layer (the stratum basale) of the skin's epidermis,
AGE SPOTS aka LIVER SPOTS ~ Older adults, people with fair skin, and people who've spent lots of time in the sun are most prone to liver spots.
The main symptom is a dark spot on the skin. They appear most often on sun-exposed areas, such as the face, hands, shoulders, and arms. CIT may help to reduce Age Spots by shedding the top layer of skin and may help normalize the production of melanocytes. CIT may also help with topical products by boosting absorption and concentration in the skin.
ENLARGED PORES ~ CIT can help close open pores as well as reduce the appearance of large pores by stimulating the production of the skins own natural collagen and thickening the skin.
*Please Note CIT can not completely eradicate large pores as pore size is genetically predetermined.
HAIR LOSS ~ CIT may help with hair loss associated with Alopecia by stimulating the Endothelial Growth Factor that may promote hair growth as well as increase Follicle size for thicker hair. Combining CIT with topical products may enhance results significantly by boosting absorption and concentration in the skin.
