BROW TATTOO / MICROBLADDING AFTER-CARE

Please Note: Everyone’s skin is different and may react differently to the Eyebrow Tattooing and/or Microblading procedure. Some peoples skin will heal faster than others, some skin will retain the pigment better and/or longer. There are various reasons for this, including how you care for your new brows and your skin. Swimming, tanning and weather all have a negative effects on our skin and will effect how you hold the pigment. The aging process also has an effect on healing and pigment retention.

DAY 1 (Day of the treatment): Step 1. After the procedure, gently press and blot the area with a clean cotton pad to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 5 to 10 minutes for the first 2 hours, then every 15 to 20 minutes for the rest of the first day.  Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids.

DAY 2      Step 1. In the morning, gently press and blot the area with a clean cotton pad to absorb excess lymph fluid.
Step 2. Once in the morning and once at night gently wash using  a gentle non fragrant soap. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (Glycolic, Lactic, or AHA), or exfoliates.
Step 3. Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. Do this after each wash and up to 2 times in between as needed for itchiness or excessive dryness.

DAY 3 - 7: Step 1. Once in the morning and once at night gently wash using  a gentle non fragrant soap. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. • Do Not get the brows wet (except for when cleaning them) during the entire healing process of for 14 days.
• No Strenuous Exercise -Try Not to Sweat for 14 days, this can be difficult but body heat expands the pores. Sweat has salt and will prematurely fade, blur or cause the pigment not to take at all.
• Stay out of the sun and tanning beds for at least a month. Then be sure to use sunblock on the healed brow to prevent fading.
• Do Not use any Retin-A or Glycolic Acids in the brow area during or after healing.
• Avoid face-down swimming, lakes and ponds, and hot tubs for the first month
• Avoid topical makeup, lotions and sunscreen on the area for at least a month.
• Only touch the treated areas with freshly cleaned hands and clean new paper products as described above during the healing process.
• Change your pillow cases each night for the first.5 nights to avoid contact with built up bacteria.
• Try not to sleep on your your side or with any part of our brow on the pillow for the first 10 days. Using a travel pillow can assist with keeping you on your back through the night.
• DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area! Disrupting any Scabbing or flaking skin can cause you to lose pigment  as well as cause scaring and will require more touch up.
Please note that a touch up fee will be applied if it is suspected that you have  picked at or neglected your healing tattoos in any way.

Important note about showering: For the first month limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should get wet only at the end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

Please Note: Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 10 days. I want you to be thrilled with the results for the months ahead, so follow the instructions!

FAILURE TO FOLLOW  THESE AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT  IN INFECTIONS,  SCARING, PIGMENT LOSS and/ or DISCOLORATION OF THE TATTOO AND SURROUNDING SKIN!

TOUCH-UP POLICY

One Perfecting Touch up session is required and is included with every New Eyebrow Service. Perfecting Touch up must be preformed within one to three months.

I want to reiterate that all skin is different and accepts and holds pigments differently. Oily skin is especially difficult as it tends to “push” the color out and it will most likely need an extra touch-up even after the Perfecting Touch up. An additional color boost  fee of $60 per session will be applied for  each extra session needed the first year of oily skin clients.

• Additional color boosts, if needed, will be $60 per session up to 6 months after the initial session and $80 for the following 6 to 12 months.

• Yearly touch-ups are recommended and will be 5% lower then the current price for returning clients. *Ask how you can earn even more future discounts through my Referral and Testimonial Program.

Dermᴴᴰ Tattoo Removal System Aftercare Instructions

Saline tattoo lifting requires that an open wound is created in the skin. It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results!
Directly after the skin should appear bright red. The procedure area may continue to appear red, pink or discolored for several weeks. The area may also become tender or feel slightly bruised for several days after the procedure.
1) If a bandage was applied REMOVE BANDAGE 30 MINUTES AFTER THE PROCEDURE.
2) DO NOT TOUCH THE PROCEDURE AREA AT ALL FOR 12 – 24 HOURS.
3) KEEP THE PROCEDURE AREA OPEN TO AIR AND DRY DO NOT COVER OR RE- BANDAGE.
4) (after the first 12-24 hours) CLEAN BY BLOTTING PROCEDURE AREA (DO NOT RUB) WITH SALINE 2 TIMES A DAY. Using a saline wipe or clean gauze with saline sprayed onto it. For tattoos that are not on the face saline can instead be sprayed directly onto procedure area for 2-3 seconds, LET  AIR DRY COMPLETELY.
5) AFTER ALL SCABBING HAS FALLEN OFF,  CONTINUE TO CLEAN 1-2 x DAY and APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF EMU OIL AFTER AIR DRYING for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Emu Oil until all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off. The goal is to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs are gone. The longer the scab stays put the better the results of the removal!
6) FOR LIP REMOVAL ADD THE FOLLOWING STEPS:
a) Drink all liquids with a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off.
b) Brush with a natural toothpaste that does not have any whitening ingredients or peroxide i.e. Toms of Maine.
c) Cut food into small bites (No sandwiches ect.).
d) Try to keep mouth expressions to a minimum.

NO MAKEUP OR SKINCARE PRODUCTS OF ANY KIND WITHIN 1" OF THE PROCEDURE AREA through the entire healing process of 6-8 weeks.
DO NOT SOAK THE PROCEDURE AREA IN WATER. shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few moments. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry (do not rub). Clean with saline as described above immediately following showering and let air dry.
NO STRENOUS EXERCISE, NO SWEATING FOR THE 1ST 5 DAYS. Beware of sweat throughout the the entire healing process of 6-8 weeks. Gently pat (do not rub) away any sweat with a clean paper towel or gauze.
NO BATHS, NO SWIMMING, NO SAUNAS, HOT TOBS, OR TANNING. The procedure area has to stay dry through the entire healing process of 6-8 weeks.
KEEP THE PROCEDURE AREA OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT THROUGH THE ENTIRE HEALING PROCESS OF 6–8 WEEKS.
DO NOT DISRUPT THE SCABBING PROCESS (i.e. no picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. The osmosis process continues to work after the procedure beneath the scabbing and throughout the entire healing process, it is critical to keep the scabs in place as long as possible to achieve optimum results.
TREAT THE PROCEDURE AREA WITH TLC. Protect from any and all irritation and trauma.

Do not touch the Procedure area directly with your hands, if you find yourself absolutely needing to touch the area make sure your hands are freshly and thoroughly washed.
It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 6-8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done..
Lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a long process please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible and wanted results in 2 to 5 sessions. How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted, method of implantation and how much needs to be removed for the desired result.
Results cannot be foreseen, predicted or guaranteed.
While bruising, swelling, tenderness, redness, itchiness, scabbing and clear, bloody or yellow secretions and crusting around the scab are all normal during the healing process, there is still the rare chance of infection. Signs of infection include but are not limited to fever, increasing pain, increasing redness, increasing swelling, unusual green or brown liquid discharge.
